This water treatment solution is an automated skid-mounted, pre-piped, and pre-wired industrial wastewater chemical batch pretreatment system using Alar® Auto-Vac™ dewatering filter technology.
In a two-step process, the system can effectively provide comprehensive industrial wastewater treatment for water-based effluents, slurries, and problem wash waters.
- Step 1. Chemical Pretreatment: The initial step involves using a chemical batch treatment tank with a turbine mixer, paired with various combinations of automatic feed systems for pH, ORP, and polymer (coagulant, flocculent). Chemical pretreatment enhances the size and weight of submicron particles in the wastewater, making them heavier than the liquid. This causes the particles to “fall out of solution” and become filterable.
- Step 2. Mechanical Separation: The second step involves using the Alar Auto-Vac dewatering filter technology to remove precipitated solid particles from the liquid. The Alar Auto-Vac is a self-cleaning rotary vacuum drum precoat filter that produces high-quality, 1-micron water and dewatered dry solids that are landfill-ready. Before filtering, the drum surface is coated with a layer of porous filter aid media, such as diatomaceous earth (DE) or perlite, to prevent blinding and clogging, while maintaining a clean filter surface.
The Alar Flex-O-Star Model 1000 Plus is built to filter up to 1,000 gallons per shift, effectively removing heavy metals and filtering down to less than 1 micron. It also eliminates most total suspended solids (TSS), ensuring cleaner, higher-quality products for the customer.
One of the key features of the Alar Flex-O-Star 1000 Plus is its digital probe, which simplifies maintenance and enhances processing control with precision. In addition, the system is equipped with a water recycle feature, helping reduce the need for freshwater and make the operation more sustainable and cost-efficient.
