Ovivo has reached a milestone in PFAS treatment innovation after a six-week field demonstration of two breakthrough technologies for PFAS removal and destruction in landfill leachate.
The technologies tested include:
- Olift™: Ovivo’s Continuous Foam Fractionation process uses ozone and air to generate microbubbles with high surface area and electrostatic charge. These bubbles attract and lift PFAS to the surface, forming a concentrated foam that is easy to collect and treat—removing up to 99 percent of targeted PFAS. The process significantly reduces waste volume and energy requirements for destruction.
- Obreak™: Ovivo’s Electro-Oxidation (EO) system destroys PFAS by applying an electrical current to break carbon-fluorine bonds in the collected foamate, resulting in harmless byproducts such as carbon dioxide and fluoride. Built on E2metrix’s proven EO technology, Obreak is robust, efficient, and designed for onsite operation to minimize costs and liability.
Initial results are promising, and the treated samples are being reviewed by a third-party accredited lab to confirm performance metrics.
These systems could be a game-changer in the fight against PFAS contamination, especially in complex waste streams such as landfill leachate.
